The Ian Carey Project - 'Get Shaky'
The Ian Carey Project's 'Get Shaky' is one of the more ear-snagging house tracks I've heard in quite some time. Carey's brand of "electronic superfunk" is in full force on this schoolyard dance party. Lyrics such as, "Baby go crazy, break the rules," say just about everything you need to know to get your own rave going.

Jaydiohead: The Jay-Z/Radiohead Mash-Ups
First it was Jay-Z and The Beatles. And only a few months ago, Coldplay released a more flavorful Jay-Z version of 'Lost,' which in turn inspired Viva La Hova, the Jay-Z/Coldplay mash-ups. Now, DJ Minty Fresh has added yet another mash to the Jay-Z/(insert rock band here) repertoire.Jaydiohead, as the name suggests, is Jay-Z + Radiohead. The mixtape is brilliantly put together, and is currently rocking my iPod. You can check out Jaydiohead's official site here. From there, you can download the mixes for yourself.

Metronomy - 'Heartbreaker'
Britain's Metronomy is at the height of its game on the indietastic, dance-rock anthem, 'Heartbreaker.'
Squelching keyboards and a funky bassline lay the foundation for frontman Joseph Mount's reassuring lyrics. Tired of constantly having to pick his friend up after heartache, Mount sings, "I've been down, time and time again. The girl's no good, for me and you. She hurts me too."
It's a pretty spot-on ode to bromance for anyone who's ever played the sounding board in a friendship.
The track breaks down into a groove of handclaps and saxophone, with whistling to boot! It's definitely one of the catchier tunes I've heard in the past few months.

Want to Know Why We Haven't Been Updating?
Recently, we've had a couple of our posts, featuring non-downloadable streams of some of our favorite songs, taken down by our blog host. Because our blog is hosted by a third party, we were provided no notice.
Apparently, the problem isn't isolated. Drowned in Sound recently posted this, journaling the phenomenon. With that said, we're evaluating the direction the blog shall go into the future.

The Dead Trees - 'Shelter'
Here is the new single from The Dead Trees, a quartet based out of Portland, Oregon. 'Shelter' begins as a slacker rock tune, but as soon as the chorus arrives and the vocals kick in, the song is taken to a whole new level. (Think John Lennon's splitting voice box on 'Twist and Shout'). Simply, the song kicks!

Radiohead Live in Concert: NPR Music Podcast
If I could get away with just linking to National Public Radio music articles all day, I might. But posting on this one was simply beyond my control.
NPR's Bob Boilen takes us back to Radiohead's August 28th concert at the Santa Barbara Bowl in California for a 2-hour performance of epic proportions.
The band brilliantly showcases it's latest effort, In Rainbows, while scouring it's extensive catalog for old favorites and deep tracks alike. Every song manages to sound meticulously practiced, yet completely spontaneous. Decade-old singles are rejuvinated as if being played for the first time.
The result is a spectacularly atmospheric retrospect of the band's career, and NPR's live recording of the show captures the quality and sheer intimacy of the moment.
Boilen compares the show to the first time he saw Pink Floyd perform Dark Side of the Moon, saying, "Radiohead's show at the Santa Barbara Bowl came as close for musicianship and creativity as any show I've seen in 37 years. I've seen a lot of shows."

Earth To Andy - 'Still After You'
Earth To Andy was one of those bands that released a pretty decent album, and then just up and called it quits. 'Still After You' was the stand out single from Chronicle Kings, and it screamed crunchy guitar, orchestral crescendo, and a guttural vocal. For the brief time it was played on the radio, the tune was pretty ultimate. Stream 'I'm Still After You' below:
