Music That Doesn't Scream: Calla

Last autumn was when Calla released Collisions, the native Texas band's third album. Citing that particular album's influences, frontman/guitarist Aurelio Valle claims Collisions was an experiment and an expression that "succeeded." Bands that Valle said inspired Calla's newest work include Jesus and Mary Chain, the Cocteau Twins, Ride, My Bloody Valentine, Pulp and Radiohead.

When asked why he doesn't scream in his music, Valle explained:

"For the most part, I'm just not one of those dudes who will scream his lungs out. I don't know that I have it in me. Maybe I do, but I haven't found it yet."

Attached is one of Calla's signature non-screamo songs. 'This Better Go As Planned' is track number 3 off of Collisions and is one of my mellow favorites.
